Dear First Timer,

Want to know a secret? I almost didn’t get out of my car when I arrived at my first Christ-Centered yoga class.

I was so nervous.

I didn’t know what to expect from the teacher, from my body…from the Lord.

I promise to never forget what it’s like to start something new.  You have so many questions & concerns.  You’re excited and nervous.  I hope to answer your questions & calm your nerves.

If you remember nothing else from this note, remember this:

You are welcome, just as you are.

&

Heart Soul Mind Yoga Classes are first and foremost worship.

You are welcome just as you are.  Couch potato and marathoner {I’ve been both} alike are welcome in class.  There are no pre-requisites.  You don’t need a yoga body.  {Want to know how to get a yoga body?  Practice yoga, in your body.  Boom!}  In every single class we have a beautiful mix of ages, physical fitness levels & abilities.  Heart Soul Mind Yoga is for everybody & every body.

Heart Soul Mind Yoga classes are first and foremost worship.  We aren’t here to tie ourselves into pretzels.  We are here to find worship heart, soul, mind, and strength.  If something doesn’t feel like worship to your body, skip it!  You could lie on your mat for an entire hour, without moving a single muscle and you would be practicing Christ-Centered Yoga.

Now, onto the practical stuff:

Bring: A yoga mat & a bottle of water.  No mat? No problem! I always have a few loaners available.  Though you may want to bring a towel as a backup in case I’ve loaned mine out, or just arrive early to secure a loaner mat.

Arrive: 10 minutes early or so.  My insurance requires that I collect a waiver from each student before their first class & we will want to discuss any injuries or medical conditions you have.

Expect: To meet God in a unique and holy way.  Yoga allows us to create more space in our bodies and Christ-Centered meditation allows us to experience God in a way that creates space in our hearts and souls.  We don’t chant, om, or say namaste, I speak English the entire time, I’ll pray aloud, and lead you in a 3-5 minute Gospel-Centered meditation.

Of course, if you have any questions, click here to email me!

I’ll save you a spot! I can’t wait to meet you!

Heather
